Game 2 – Lost 5-9

With the culmination of an earlier start and teams being mixed up more than usual it was no surprise the boys struggled to wake themselves up for the beginning of the days games. We were lackadaisical in our tagging, sluggish in defensive lines and other than the odd inspired run from the likes of Christian and Joel found ourselves well beaten in the first two games of the morning. All before 11 am!

The turn of the hour was the tuning of the team. The defensive line suddenly seemed bolstered and difficult to break particularly at the wings, the support play appeared off one, and the other shoulder. Direct and forward runs from William, Spencer and Ben gained territory like we hadn't done before. Twinned with relentless tagging when we didn't have the ball and some brilliant passing amongst a wide spread of the teams players when we did, all paid off with a well deserved victory in the last game.

If only we'd arrived in the frame of mind we'd left in then who knows what might have happened.....
