Windsor Rugby festival 2012

After last weeks training at Windsor, the start of the rugby season was always likely to be a challenge. The under 8’s entered 2 teams in the festival and after a cold start, had a good first day out.

U8 - B team:

v Richmond - Lost 2-4
Tries: Alex 2
The ‘B’ team started against Richmond with several new players who joined this season, with this their first ever competitive game. Richmond built an early lead which Bracknell were unable to catch. However, the team showed great tagging skills and some good running, especially from Alex who ran in two tries.

v Worthing - Lost 2-5
Tries: Christian, Alex
A very similar story to the first game. Bracknell made a few basic errors which saw Worthing build a strong lead. Good to see Bracknell learn through the game and as a contest the second half was very competitive. Well done Christian with some great running and scoring your first try.

v Windsor - Lost 1-6
Tries: Alex
Windsor proved to be a strong team with experienced players from last year. Bracknell never gave up and kept their effort at a top level. Great enthusiasm from Joseph who took a few knocks but kept going.

v Saracens – Lost 4-7
Tries: Sophie, Alex, Joseph, Eliot
This game was much closer than the score shows. Bracknell scored four tries by four different scorers which is great for the upcoming matches. Very exciting game with harry having some great weaving runs and unlucky not to score.

The team was lead very well by Sophie and Oscar who both showed great qualities as captain.

Harris Nobles, Alex Titley and Zak Crean have been voted as Sunday's Player of the Tournament. They each received equal percentage of the vote.
