About the team

We welcome any new players, whether they are new to the game or have previous experience with either schools or clubs. Boys and Girls have separate teams from U12, so if you have a daughter in year 7 then please see the U12s girls team. If your son is in year 7 then we would love to see you in the BRFC U12s boys team.

All coaches are DBS checked and RFU trained as well as some coaches and volunteers are also first aid trained. Some weeks we are away or at Festivals but when training at home we usually train for approximately 90 minutes, usually commencing at 09.30 on Sunday mornings. Please always contact an official before attending any session to confirm location, timings and attendance

U12s is the fourth season of contact Rugby but with a continued emphasis on FUN, TEAMWORK and RESPECT. We follow the RFU rules and therefore this involves tackling and will also be contesting the ball in the form of rucks and mauls, which are now un-restricted numbers-wise. Scrums also occur but these are not contested in terms of pushing and are formed using the nearest 5 players (giving all players the opportunity to take part). It is all under the safe guidance of the coaches. We also follow the RFU Kids First Program with an emphasis on longer term player development over short term 'trophy' focused.

In the U12s, it is compulsory to wear a gum shield for all contact activities and therefore please contact an official if you have any queries or wish to come to a trial and do not have one. Please dress appropriately for the weather and no hoods or zips are allowed. Please also bring a drink and a snack for your child.

If you wish to know more or join us for a trial session, after three trial sessions we invite you to join and become a member of the club, then please contact an official via this webpage who will advise the timings and exact location because we may not always be at Lily Hill Park and all fixtures on this website are subject to change, including at very short notice

Please contact any of the officials listed if you have any queries or wish to give it a try! Please note a parent or guardian must always be pitchside with your child
