The team had been told that when in the opposition 22 we take points on offer from penalties. So Kieran duly followed through with 5 from 6 penalty attempts and just fell short under the crossbar with a touchline conversion attempt.
The opposition, Effingham & Leatherhead, took the lead with a well executed backs move and some weak tackling of a strong running centre, for a score under the posts which was easily converted. Bracknell had the opportunity to close the gap soon after, but unfortunately the penalty conversion attempt was pulled wide. However, the Bracknell team kept pounding forward and eventually drew another kickable penalty and this time after swapping kicking tee over it went, 7-3 to Effingham & Leatherhead.
It wasn't long before Bracknell converted another two penalties to go into half time 9-6 up.
In the second half Bracknell played up the slope on pitch 1. After some good pressure on the right side, Nat managed to find the try line down a narrow blind side from a ruck. Unfortunately, the conversion attempt fell short just under the crossbar; excellent attempt from Kieran.
A short while later Bracknell were penalised in a central position just inside their own half, the opposition elected for an attempt at the posts! The attempt fell short, 22m restart for Bracknell.
Effingham & Leatherhead had two players shown the yellow card during the second half, so played two periods a player down.
Bracknell scored two more penalties to go out a 20-7 lead with 5 minutes to go. However, the opposition were not letting up and managed to work an overlap on the right had side and run round to score under the posts with an easy conversion. So final score Bracknell 20 Effingham & Leatherhead 14.
