Six try Sam vanquishes Vandals!! Match report by Ian Manners

Bracknell U13 Hurricanes kicked off their return fixture against Weybridge Vandals at Bracknell’s Calfridus Road ground. Having lost earlier in the season at Vandal's Brownacres ground the Hurricanes were looking to avenge their defeat.
Within 2 minutes of kick off, Rufus Dibley making his first start at inside centre made a great inside break on Bracknell’s 10 metre line and stepped past four defenders to score a brilliant solo try. Two minutes later big Sam Sershall drove over the line to score after some good inter-passing between backs and forwards to score his first of the day, 10-0 Bracknell.
Two minutes later prop, Charlie Garrard broke forwards from loose play, and with a strong hand off passed to James Waller, who in turn handed off his opposite number to score try number three, 15-0.
Nine minutes later big Sam Sershall scored his second after a run from 30 metres out with defenders bouncing off him on the way. Three minutes later Sam scored his third from a quick tap penalty 10 metres out to score his hat trick. He was at it again after more good passing between forwards and backs and stormed over for his 4th. Charlie Garrard completed the scoring for Bracknell’s 7th try after a strong run beating a host of defenders on the way. Half time 35-0 to Bracknell.
The second half began with Vandals playing with the wind and for the first time in the game they were on the front foot and went over the whitewash 6 minutes later to score their first try, 35-5.
Full back Harry Mills followed that with one of his trade mark weaving runs before offloading to right wing James Waller to run in and score from 40 metres out.
Bracknell soon got back on top and after more good inter-passing by the Hurricanes, big Sam scored his 5th. Six minutes later he picked up from the back of a ruck on the blind side to storm over for his 6th!
The Vandals battled away and after a penalty close to Bracknell’s line went over for their second try right on the final whistle, 55-10 to Bracknell. Another good win for Bracknell with an increased work rate from the forwards. Had the backs not run too laterally on occasions the score could have been even bigger.
Although the irrepressible Sam, (who always plays with a smile on his face) scored 6, Rufus Dibley was awarded Man of the Match for a fine game in defence and attack playing at inside centre for the first time.
