This weekend saw the Hurricanes play against a very strong Windsor first team. It didn’t take long for Windsor to score and very quickly we found ourselves 20-0 down until Zach Pugh intercepted another Windsor passing move on the half way line and ran in to score an opportunist try.
Bracknell rallied strongly after that led by some strong defensive tackling by Seb Corley and another aggressive performance from William Taverner.
However as with Bournemouth the previous week Windsor proved to be very strong and aggressive at the breakdown and time and again turned over Bracknell possession giving them a good platform to win the ball for their very fast and elusive backs. One great try in particular from a training ground move was scored by the Windsor fullback who came into the line at pace and scored in the corner.
Although Bracknell managed to prevent several other Windsor scoring opportunities by holding the ball up a couple of times and twice the Windsor backs not grounding the ball properly, Windsor continued to attack at every opportunity and stretched our defence creating several overlaps to run out 55-5 winners.
Unfortunately Zach Pugh went off with concussion after a particularly heavy tackle towards the end of the second half.
For the second week running Seb Corley was voted Bracknell Player of the Day. William Evans was voted Bracknell Player of the Day by the Windsor coaches and the Bracknell coaches awarded the Player of the Day to the Windsor fullback.
Once again we have much to work on in training.
