Great Forward play

After last week's less than stunning performance against Drifters, the instructions today, to the Bracknell Bs , was to go out and dominate up front again as they had previously against Hungerford, Windsor and Banbury. Luckily the players had their "listening heads" on and during the first 15 minutes they totally dominated with penetrating carries and aggression at the breakdowns. The Teams first try came from a series of 6 phases where the forwards carried and recycled with Kaspar going over to score. A real team effort.

Like so often, after a score we went to sleep, and a couple of missed tackles allowed Camberley to quickly level the score. Returning to plan A, Bracknell again drove the ball forward and played most of the remaining period in the oppositions half. Camberley dug deep and defended their try line well and at the end of the first "third" it was 5 -5.

During the second period Camberley began to get into the game. Their centres were particularly effective at working the ball wide and a break, down the right hand wing, brought them a second try. The momentum of the match was slowly shifting and Camberley could have gone further ahead but for some great last line of defence tackling from Rhys, Rowan, Nate, Patrick and Charlie. With pressure building on the Bracknell try line, the forwards were able to turn over a Camberley attack, they passed the ball to Rowan, who then sprinted from our own 5m line to score a great solo try. So the score at the end of the second "third was a far to close 10-10.

Now was the time to dig deep. The forwards, renewed their dominance up front and slowly worked the ball back into Camberley's 22. Following a knock on, the Bracknell scrum won the ball, against the head, and Rhys picked up and scooted down the blind side to score Bracknell's third. Now Bracknell's dominance in the forwards began to tell. We quickly returned to Camberley's 22 and a period of hard fought attack and defence began. Harrison, Jude, Kaspar, Alex and Thomas all took turns hammering away at the Camberley defence. It was finally left to Jack to drive over from about 5 meters out to score his maid "competitive" try in a Bracknell shirt.

With a couple of minutes left on the clock, Camberley again came back strongly at the restart. However, this time Bracknell put in their tackles and were able to close out the game with a very well deserved team victory.

Final Score: Camberley Bs 10 - Bracknell Bs 20

Bracknell man of the match : Rowan

Finally a big thanks to George today, who stepped up to play for the As.
