After years of mini rugby tournaments, Reading were kind enough to invite some old foes back to their ground for an early season bash of 15 min games.

First game set the boys against a joint Maidenhead and London Irish team and after a slowish start losing the first scrum against the head, the forwards gradually gained some go forward ball allowing the backs to develop momentum and after Theo scored his first try for the club when picking up a loose ball and running it in, the boys started to relax and two more good tries followed from Tim and another from Theo. There was even time for the ball to be dropped over the try line after an excellent flowing move opened up the opposition for try number 4.

The second game saw the boys face a strong Abingdon A team, and from the kick off, Bracknell found themselves 2 tries down with barely a touch of the ball. With Adam, Max, Josh W and Ed to the fore, Bracknell started to repel the powerful Abingdon runners, and the game ended with no more scores and the realisation that with a better start the result could have gone a little better.

The last two games saw Bracknell face a Tadley/Reading team and then a joint Teddington/Slough team. Both teams came with large packs and strong runners, and both games followed the same pattern, with Bracknell going a try down in both, before a fast paced, offloading game brought parity in the first (one try apiece) and a win by two tries to one in the second.

These two final games saw Bracknell at their best with Ed's try in the first coming at the end of several drives at the Tadley/Reading defence, and the two tries in the final comeback coming on the end of two flowing backs moves, following strong set pieces from the forwards, seeing the space created for Theo and then Tim to run in from distance.

A very good morning for the boys with a strong display from our forwards and great momentum generated by Aggie and Josh Wallace enabling some cracking tries for the outside backs.
