Despite missing six regular first team players - Bracknell ran out 34-5 winners against Chobham.

After a last minute defeat to Chobham in a fixture just before Christmas, the boys were keen to right the wrongs of that game and turn in a more complete and team orientated performance this time around.

With six first team regulars unavailable for selection Tom Day, Lewis Newman, Max Rickard and Josh Elsey filled in from the B squad and acquitted themselves well against tough opposition.

The forwards were in their usual dominant form with the 1.5m rule at scrums allowing our opposition some possession when we had to stop pushing! This allowed the backs plenty of time and space to work their magic. Props Fergus Hill, James Walford, Ben Clark and James Harris scummaged well, with Harry Grange playing his first game for the A's having recovered from his broken collar bone prior to Christmas. Kyle Bruwer was immense in the second row with the back row of Ben Torr, Kane O'Leary and Matt van Heerde going from strength to strength.

In only his second game at scrum half, Ewan Castle grew into the role, with Matthew Dalrymple marshalling the back line with his usual tact and diplomacy! Max Rickard and Sam Clough regularly broke through the Chobham defences putting James Williams, Josh Zeller and Sam Faulkner into plenty of space to cause havoc!

Tries came from Ewan Castle, Sam Faulkner, Fergus Hill, Matthew Dalrymple and James Williams (2), with the second of James' tries being the champagne moment of the match. A quick tap from Ewan Castle created a 2-on-1 against the Chobham wing. Matthew Dalrymple expertly drew his man and put James Williams away with nothing but green grass and whitewash in front of him!

Chobham voted Ewan Castle as their man of the match from Bracknell, although he lost the "drink-off" to our pick of the Chobham players (more practice at necking pints is needed!)

This Sunday sees our last home game (and the last in the league for Bracknell this season) against Reading Abbey.
