1st Game. Bracknell 12 - 0 Reading.
Bracknell started well and got on the front foot straight from the kick off. Dan Roux charged through to set up a ruck that was quickly won and the ball fed out to Alex who ran for the line to score. A few passes went astray when an opening was there to increase the lead and Bracknell nearly paid the penalty for some loose play. Reading broke out and it needed a saving tackle by Grant to prevent an equalizing try. However, Bracknell continued to dominate forward possession and when Grant burst through to score the game was won.
2nd Game. Bracknell 26 - 0 High Wycombe.
The match was not as one sided as the score suggests. Wycombe had some fast backs that needed tackling before they got up a head of steam, and in this match the tackling and defensive play was excellent, epitomised by Billy chasing down everything and never giving up. Four solo trys from Grant proved too much for Wycombe to handle, but this was a victory that the whole team contributed to.
3rd Game. Bracknell 7 - 0 Tadley.
This was always going to be a tough game against a large and powerful opposition. Things got even more difficult as some over zealous hand offs reduced the Bracknell team by a player for 2 minutes, to make things worse our forward power pack, James C, took a nasty knock and had to come off. When everything was going against them Bracknell dug deep and raised their game... and this was to be their best performance of the tournament. The forwards were fantastic and pressurized so much that Tadley never got in the Bracknell half. With only seconds to go a clever kick from Alex set up a ruck five yards out, and it was fitting that a forward, Brooke, should score the try that he and all his pack team-mates deserved.
4th Game. Bracknell 7 - 19 Newbury.
This was the final of the tournament, both teams being unbeaten, but with Bracknell scoring more points in the previous games a draw would have sufficed. Things started brilliantly as Alex went on a run ending up scoring under the posts. Bracknell then pushed on and Dan Roux was inches from scoring the all important second try, only for Newbury to rip the ball and run the length of the pitch to score themselves. This had a dramatic effect on Bracknell from which they never managed to recover, eventually losing by three tries to one, but the boys should be very proud of their performance today. We move on to the next game in confident mood.
