Match report Stormers vs Newbury - Cup Game

Final score 38-14 to Newbury.

As already observed the score does not fully describe the day’s rugby. The backs produced some great running rugby and our forwards outperformed Newbury in the scrums and showed great commitment at the breakdowns. We also saw some great try line defence from the whole team.

Most importantly it really looked like we were playing as a team and they were enjoying themselves. Great to watch. We also had a great ref and a warm welcome from Newbury (who lent us a player)

The first half was an exciting back and forth contest with Bracknell replying quickly to each of Newbury’s first two tries courtesy of great tries from Harvey and Oliver Anderson; both converted by Jack. Newbury got one more try and Bracknell just missed out on a great chance to draw level again at the close of the half. (19-14)

The start of the second half saw another breakaway try from Newbury and shortly afterwards we were down to 14 men after Charlie B was sidelined with a potential concussion (after a great performance). The Stormers kept their heads up and made several chances but we did not manage to score again and Newbury put another two past us.
