Hurricanes whether an early stormer to blow over the Ram in the 2nd half

After several weeks of disruption due to poor weather and some illness, it was a welcome return to competitive rugby for everyone involved in Bracknell U14s.

Rams where hosting and kicked the game off to Bracknell on a very chilly day but with good pitch and clear skies.

The first five minutes were a bit untidy from both teams as they warmed up and there wasn’t a lot in it however you could see early on the general pattern for the match to come. Rams were using their mobile forwards to gain yards or more often than not they’d shift the ball to their big mobile outside the centre to try crash through The Greens defence. Bracknell in turn when they had possession was going through phases with well-controlled forward play with the backs using the ball in hand getting it wide creating space.
Rams were the first to take control of the game and had a line out 5m from Bracknell's line. After several minutes of pressure, the Rams won a Scrum 5m out, a quick pick and go and Rams scored the first try of the match.
The conversion was missed and the score was 5-0 to Rams.
After the restart, it was more of the same but now Bracknell, after winning an important penalty from strong defence, we were starting to get on the front foot.
Bracknell started to spend more time in the Rams half and eventually, the pressure forced them into kicking to release the pressure, this was largely ineffective and dealt with by stand-in full-back Rudy Smith. With Bracknell playing the better rugby the Rams were always dangerous with good play and powerful running of their own.
Charlie G made a strong run from Bracknell's own half up to the Rams 22m line, the supporting runners secured the ball and nearly scored, Bracknell were now starting to boss the scrums and had the Rams under pressure on their own line. Suddenly a break from loose ball allowed the Rams to break and may have scored if it wasn’t for the excellent scrambling defence by Bracknell.
HT 5-0.
Bracknell started the second half strong and after a nice passing move in defence Sam P was set free down the touchline to make a speedy 50m run but the cover defence held strong.
After the now-familiar pattern of repeated Bracknell pressure with scrums and penalties, the Rams again breakthrough with powerful run from the big centre and Despite dominating possession and territory Bracknell were still behind, this was until a flowing move that included great forward play from a line-out and slick passing from backs to free Sam P to go around his opposite number and score under posts from 50m out.
5-5 With Rufus D stepping up to and the 2 and converter his first conversion in a game
5-7 to Bracknell

More great work from the restart with lots of Bracknell phases, relentless effort and commitment gave the backs the chance to move the ball. After some quick passing along the line, Harrison B did well to beat his man on the outside and finish off a great team move and the second try.
Con - missed.
5-12.
Late on it was all Bracknell and following a powerful rampaging run from Charlie straight at the heart of rams defence, Bracknell moved the ball wide and was looking to score again. BRFC kept up the pressure and only Rams strong defence was keeping Bracknell from scoring again.

Full-time Rams 5 - Bracknell 12.
Well deserved win , great team performance.
