]BRACKNELL HURRICANES U14A TAME TADLEY TIGERS
SUNDAY OCTOBER 6TH

On a perfect day for rugby, Bracknell U14s Hurricanes took to the pitch at Tadley Tigers ground in Aldermaston for their first competitive match of the season. Tadley kicked off at 12 noon and spent the next few minutes camped on Bracknell’s try line. The Bracknell forwards defended with huge commitment before play moved upfield and flanker, James W crashed over to score Bracknell’s first try after 3 minutes. Fly-half Zach added the extras, 7- 0 to Bracknell.
After more concerted attacks by Tadley, Bracknell regained possession and after a flowing backs move left-wing, Rufus D scored with Zach P converting to add 2 points and Bracknell were 14-0 up after 15 minutes of play. Two minutes later flanker James W broke through the Tadley defence and pop passed of the floor to the support runner Charlie G who dived over to score. Zach P slotted the conversion, 21-0 Bracknell.
Tadley fought back and scored a well-worked try under the posts to reduce the deficit, 21-7 to Bracknell.
With the forwards doing all the basics well and delivering quick ball to the backs this allowed a flowing passing game by the Bracknell's backs and right-wing Sam P beat his winger and the Tadley fullback to score with Zach P giving a masterclass in kicking duties adding the conversion for a 100% record to finish the half 28-7 to Bracknell Hurricanes.

Half time message was more of the same please boys and stay accurate with 3 new players coming on to the pitch

Bracknell kicked off the second half and gained possession for the inside centre, Ben B to make a break to score under the posts. Geoffrey M was playing Fly half and took on the kick duties and added the 2 points, 35-7 to Bracknell. Tadley never gave up and in spite of them winning good ball at the rucks and breakdown, Bracknell’s defence never allowed them to get on the front foot. After several phases, Bracknell prop, Charlie G stripped the ball from the Tadley player 5 meters from Bracknell try line and made a stunning break and ran the full length of the
field with several Tadley players trailing in his wake to score a brilliant individual try, 40-7 Bracknell. Three minutes later, Bracknell, had a scrum inside there own halfway line and the forward delivered and perfect scrum for scrum half George L to pass quick ball to Geoffrey M to pull of a backs move form training so the blindside wing Sam Pemberton took a pop pass at full pace to scorch through the gap between Tadley’s fly-half and inside centre to score under the posts from 50 metres out. Geoffrey M converted, 47-7 Bracknell. Shortly afterwards and what was to be the final play of the game Tadley were awarded a scrum near their own try line. The scrum had to be reset and the Bracknell forwards were keen to get one against the head, Hooker Jensen H won one against the head and the packed worked to nudge Tadley off the ball. This gave the backs turn over ball and they passed it through the hand's quickly down the line to winger Sam P to score his third under the posts, 52-7 to Bracknell with the Conversion just missing.
It was a great result for Bracknell Hurricanes. All the players showed massive commitment and played very well as a team showing great strength, pace and power throughout. It was a great start to the season.

The score looked one side but Tadley never gave up and pushed the Bracknell boys to deliver there best performance to date.

well done Peter O and Ollie B as this was your first game as Hurricanes and you both had a strong performance

The Tadley coaches nominated Bracknell’s second-row Sam Sershall as their Man Of The Match.
The Bracknell coaches nominated the Tadley scrum-half who had performed consistently well under
enormous pressure as their Man of the Match.
