We lost 29-19. We were 3 tries down, facing up the hill before the boys decided to wake up and start. Then, once again, they had an extra player on the pitch, a balding....gent with a whistle... not a promising prospect. However our boys woke up and began to play, and more importantly, believe that they could play. Forwards worked hard, but we were stuttering in the back line to get away, and unfortunately conceded again before the end of the first half. So 4 tries down. At half time we were then with the slope and the wind, but still against the ref, and began to really begin to play. Some monster hits, sorry, tackles went in from the usual suspects like Liam, Ryan and Kyle, then began some structured back line moves with Luca going over for our first try, followed by more wonderfully aggressive moves and finally Liam breaking free just inside their half and having enough gas, just, to get over the line (he needed a breather after that!) Hungerford then recomposed themselves and got a try back, but then once more, with some great back line passing and driving through their lines Alex M showed some great determination to get the ball grounded over the line. All in all, a really positive performance, against a good opposition, shame about the sloppy start and the reffing, but on one of those at least we can work. Bring. It. On. Boys.
