Canterbury Shield - Division 3
Shelford 2nds 27 v Bracknell 2nds 24
A second defeat in a row hasn’t helped Bracknell’s 2nd team cause in challenging for promotion. Despite scoring first through a Will Samuels and leading by 0-7, Bracknell allowed Shelford pull back and move into a 24-7 lead at half time.
The second half saw Bracknell move up a gear with tries from Matt Bramley and another from Samuels but they gave away a soft penalty with 10 minutes to go to enable the home team win by 27-24.
Manager Greg Anstead remained confidant indicating that the performance had indicated to him the players who were prepared to go the extra mile in the teams cause. He said†I admit that I am disappointed with the result and performance of some individuals because they have proved to me that they are currently not playing well enough for this level. Training will be a painful experience as I look to toughen up these people.â€
