Bracknell 26 Camborne 12

Head of Rugby ,Daniel ap Dafydd was able to announce just one change in the squad that faced WSM lst week. Chris Halaufia returning at number 8.

On a dreadful day it was Bracknell that started the game the livelier. This pressure was rewarded with a try after quarter of an hour. Peceli Nacamavutu driving off a maul to pop the ball to Leo Bailey to score. Conversion from Chris Laidler was just wide.

Three minutes later Bracknell scored their second try, Ken Dowding going over from close quarters. Again the conversion going wide.

With a Chris Laidler penalty Bracknell threatened to run away with the game but the conditions, some determined Camborne defence prevented. A series of penalties conceded by Bracknell allowed Camborne’s fly half David Makee to keep Camborne in the in game with a great display of kicking before the half time break.

Half time:Bracknell 16 Camborne 9

Almost straight after half time, a further David Makee penalty brought Camborne to within four points of Bracknell. Any fears that the Bracknell supporters may have had were eased with a Jiute Tipua try; finding space out wide he was able to dot down under the Camborne posts. Conversion was good. 23-12.

A final Vic Hardwicke penalty on the 31 minute mark finished the scoring for the game.

Full time: Bracknell 26 Camborne 12 (Points: Bracknell 4 Camborne 0)

The win leaves Bracknell with 39 points and sees them climb to eighth in the league, although ninth placed Brixham have a game in hand on Bracknell. Next week the team are way at Cleve who are yet to lose at home this season before league leaders Dings Crusaders visit Lily Hill.

Well done to the Stags, 3XV and 4XV who all won their games yesterday. Chairman of rugby Martin Radford commented after the game “it's not all about winning, but it helps when all 4 teams win...! Great stuff lads...”

Special mention about 1XV player Ben Yates who this week announced that due family and work commitments and strong advice from the surgeons he had decided to call it a day and hang up his boots. All at BRFC wish you a speedy recovery and good luck for the future.
