Rugby Returns this Saturday
This Saturday Bracknell play host to Sevenoaks RFC from Kent, for the first ever meeting between the clubs (so we think). Sevenoaks was founded 1925 and is where David “Flats” Flatman, Tom May and Andy Titterrell all started their rugby careers. Last season Sevenoaks gained promotion from London 1 South as champions to reach level 5 for the first time. In gaining promotion they amassed 110 league points, as part of their twenty three wins, one of their only three league defeats did take place just down the road at the hands of Camberley.
Sevenoaks enjoyed a win last Saturday in their first run out of the season, whereas this is Bracknell's first pre-season game of the season. Both teams will be looking to get some game time into their squads as their preseason continues. As this is a pre-season fixture, in accordance RFU regulations the match will be split into four 20 minute quarters. The traditional half time break still coming after 40 minutes.
Prior to kick off we will also be showing the RWC warm up game from Cardiff on the clubhouse screens, kick off is 2.15pm so get down early before cheering on Bracknell.
The U13 lads fresh from their efforts at Twickenham last Sunday are on ball boy duties. The afternoon will also provide a great chance for the Bracknell supporters to catch up and meet the players. All in all it promises to an entertaining day, so please come down and lend your support.
