Bracknell Girls U16’s met Cobham Girls U16’s in their final training match before kicking off the league season against Newbury and Didcot Girls U16’s.
Cobham came away with the win, but this match was about more than the final score. It gave both teams a valuable chance to put their strategies into practice and see how they might hold up under real match conditions. The game was played in a competitive yet constructive spirit, with players getting the opportunity to showcase their skills and build on their teamwork.
This training match provided a good opportunity for players to adjust to the pace and intensity of competitive rugby. Both teams will take what they learned and use it to fine-tune their preparations for the season ahead.
Scorers:
Neve (5), Molly Ca (2)
Annabelle(5), Imogen (2)
In other Bracknell U16 Girls news, the team made a profit of £308 from their pre-match cake and cookie sale, contributing to their ongoing efforts to raise funds for their first-ever tour abroad in February 2025 to the Netherlands. The team will face the formidable Dutch girls in Amsterdam, and to ensure they are fit and ready, they will be taking on various challenges to swim, walk, run, and cycle the 367 miles (591 kilometers) distance as a team between August and November.
Many thanks to everyone who bought a cake or cookie today and contributed towards their fundraising. If you weren’t at the club or missed out on a tasty treat, they would greatly appreciate your sponsorship—any amount you can afford—to help cover their tour costs. You can donate through their JustGiving page, which can be found here.
Many thanks, from the Under 16 Girls Team!
