How does counselling work?
A counselling session involves talking with a counsellor one to one on a weekly basis in a safe, confidential space. Your counsellor will listen to you without making judgements and will help you to explore your personal thoughts, feelings and experiences.
You will not be pressured to talk about anything you do not want to. Many people are nervous at first in what is a new and different experience, but these feelings are quite natural.
Referrals are accepted from young people and adults directly, as well as from parents, teachers, coaches, and other professionals.
Our waiting list is currently relatively short so clients could be seen in a matter of a few weeks.
Our website has comprehensive information about who we are, what counselling is and how to make a referral, please take a look: Youthline | Counselling for Young People in Bracknell
Youthline also offer group workshops to young people on Stress and Worry, the next one, for year 10s and 11s starting in April 2026.
Whether you are young or old, It can be hard to take that first step, but whatever your problem, however big or small, you will be made welcome at Youthline and listened to with respect.
