Wilf was a Vice President of Bracknell RFC and had been a member of the club since the 1960's. Wilf was 1stXV Captain in the 1971/72 Season and was still attending games this season with his former playing pals whenever possible.

Trustee Steve Ward remembers Wilf fondly commenting:

" Wilf went on to Captain the Stags for a number of years and became Social Secretary. He was always first in the queue if any jobs needed doing and he always had a view on anything Rugby, the world, life in general and he defended said views in a forcible, but friendly manner, and his distinctive northern accent."

His funeral will be at Easthampstead Crematorium on Thursday May 28th at 1:30pm with the wake at the club from 2:30pm.
