This Saturday will see the dedication ceremony for the newly refurbished Grandstand at Bracknell RFC, planned for 1230Hrs, in honour of former Club President and former RFU President Jonathan Dance.

Jonathan was an integral member of Bracknell RFC who oversaw much of what we have and what we do as a community rugby club whilst serving in many roles on the Club's Executive Committee and also as our Club President for 36 years. Known to many members simply as "JD" or Jon - he was an ever present at Lily Hill Park on week day evenings, Match Day Saturday's and Mini and Junior Sunday's.

Jon was a club man at heart, an eternal diplomat, and a very shrewd operator in the corridors of power at Twickenham whilst serving in many roles at the RFU that included as a RFU Council Member, Legal and Disciplinary Adviser and ultimately as RFU President.

The funds raised by the JD Dinner held in September and the efforts of Alan Gunner, Steve Bullett and Steve Ward have enabled the stand to be re-designed and re-covered in club colours.

All members are invited to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony hosted by Club President Martin Radford and Chairman Stuart Evans. Jon's widow Mary and his son's Nick and Alistair will also be in attendance.
