In accordance with Club Rule 2.9 (Alteration of Rules) the Proposer proposes a change to Bracknell RFC Club Rule 2.4.9 – Those Members entitled to vote at General Meetings. Rule 2.4.9 currently states:
“Only Founder Members, Life Members, Playing Members (those over 18 at the start of the season), Family Members (1 member only who represents the family and who must be over 18), Vice Presidents and Social Members shall be entitled to vote at any General Meeting; provided their annual membership fee is fully paid.”
It is Proposed that Rule 2.4.9 be reformed and altered to read as follows:
(a) Voting rights shall apply only where the relevant membership subscription is fully paid and up to date in accordance with the Club’s rules. Each fully paid membership of the Club shall carry entitlement to one (1) vote at any General Meeting of the Club:
For the avoidance of doubt, this shall include only memberships held in respect of Founder Members, Life Members, Senior Playing Members (those aged 18 or Over at the start of the relevant season), Family Membership (1 family member only who represents the family and who must be 18 or Over at the start of the relevant season), Vice Presidents, Social Members and Mini and Junior Members (where the vote shall be exercised by the nominated parent or legal guardian named on the membership proposal of aged group players from U6 to U18).
(b) Only one individual may exercise the vote attached to any membership in any given membership year.
(c) Any individual exercising a vote on behalf of a membership shall be deemed a Voting Member for that purpose and shall be bound by the Club’s rules and policies.
(d) Any membership category gifted or bundled as part of any commercial or sponsorship deal, Occasional Senior Player and Student Members will NOT have Voting Rights conveyed upon them and hence will NOT be entitled to vote at any General Meeting.
(f) The Executive Committee shall determine and administer procedures for the recording of individuals entitled to exercise voting rights under this rule.
