Dear all.
I hope that you are all enjoying the lovely weather we are having at the moment and not missing the rugby too much.
The new season will soon be upon us and preparations are in full swing to make sure we are ready to go in September.
This new season will see some changes around the club with a new Executive Committee, a new Director of Rugby and hopefully some great rugby being played home and away from all our teams.
As we move towards the start of the new season we have had to look at the finances of the club and as a committee making sure that we are investing wisely and not over committing ourselves but at the same time ensuring we are building for the future.
As a club we rely heavily on our fantastic volunteers to perform roles in place of paying people. This could be manning the BBQ, making sure the grass is cut or helping out at one of the many functions we run. On top of this we get great support from volunteers in helping maintain the club or provide fixes at reasonable rates.
More recently we are looking for volunteers to take on roles which require certain skills to help us with the clubs future strategy.
As you will appreciate this reliance on good will can only go so far and at times we have to spend the clubs money to cover costs of maintenance, staffing and improvements to the club.
As we see price increases affecting the clubs costs and the need to build for the future I am letting you know that the membership prices for the season 2018/2019 will be as follows:
Playing membership
Senior - increase from £155 to £160
Full-time Student - increase from £110 to £115
U6-U18 - increase from £110 to £115
Plus £5 extra if chose to Pay by Direct debit to cover the charges we incurred by using this payment option. Click here for info on direct debit payments.
Family
Option A - increase from £155 to £160
Option B - increase from £205 to £215
Option C - increase from £210 to £220
Vice President - increase from £110 to £115
Social
Under 64 years - increase to £37.50
Over 65 Years - no increase £20
It is never nice informing people that prices are increasing but the committee has thought long and hard about this before coming to a decision.
We have left it to the last possible moment to announce any new price to allow members to join before any change.
The value of being a member at Bracknell Rugby Club has increased in the past few years. We offer free entry to members to our key event of the year the Ale & Cider festival. The bar discount of 18% will continue and we will look at other benefits we can offer for being a member over the coming months and let you know.
Thank you for your continued support of our great club and I very much look forward to meeting up with you in the new season.
Many Thanks
Ian Wilson
Chairman
