On Saturday 7th March 2026 we honoured and remembered Jonathan Dance by naming and dedicating the newly refurbished Grandstand as "The Jonathan Dance Stand" in his memory.

Losing Jon so suddenly in 2024 was a great loss to the club and the wider rugby community as a whole. He championed Bracknell RFC at every opportunity serving on the Club's Committee in many different roles not least as Club President for 36 years. As an RFU Council Member and an adviser to World Rugby Jon also served as RFU President in 2014/15.

We were joined on the day by Mary Dance, Jonathan's wife, and sons Nick and Alistair. Mary had the honour of cutting the ribbon and declaring the Jonathan Dance Stand open in front of assembled audience of friends, family, players and members.

Our thanks go to the fundraising efforts of his close friends and Club Trustees Steve Ward, Steve Bullett and Alan Gunner, and all those that attended and supported the fundraising dinner held back in September.

A special mention must also go to Andi from A-Star Signs for the sign itself and also to Bill Canning for his help with the project.
