Bracknell Under 14 Development squad took on Hungerford in the opening match of the day, in what was to be an end to end slugfest!
A bright start from Bracknell saw them power through the gears with the ball being worked wide for Oli H to dot down and Zabi adding the extras. Hungerford equalled the scoreline before some excellent ball retention and phase play saw Alex smash through a gap to regain the lead. After half time Hungerford pulled one back and the pressure was on. A solid Bracknell defence held firm and a quick turnover was exploited well, allowing Daniel to dive over and bring home victory.
A highly entertaining and competitive fixture, with a 17-12 win for the Development squad.
The second fixture saw Bracknell Under 14s face Newbury RFC, in a repeat of the season's earlier Berkshire Youth cup matches.
An almost flawless attacking performance from Bracknell eventually resulted in a large margain of victory, thanks to some grunt up front and pace out wide.
Highlights came from Bailey and James combining off a clever grubber kick through and subtle offload, Riley with a trademark sprint down the wing and a rampaging Bracknell maul powering over from seven metres out.
Two excellent performances and two exhilarating matches that kept the sidelines entertained.
Next up the lads travel to Reading and Basingstoke, for more Sunday action!
