Sunday 3rd December - final chance to register

Every week in the UK at least 12 fit and healthy young people die of an undiagnosed heart condition. Sadly, this is becoming more common in sport as we have seen in recent years.

I am pleased to announce that the club is running a second Cardiac Screening session for players aged between 14 – 35.

In partnership with Cardiac Risk in the Young – CRY – a charity whose mission is to identify those that are at risk from sudden cardiac death, we have secured 100 free screening slots.

At a screening, all individuals will receive an electrocardiogram (ECG) that examines the electrical activity of the heart, and if required, an echocardiogram, as well as a physical examination.

The ECG is a simple, non-invasive, and painless test that will only take a few minutes to complete and is performed by qualified cardiac physiologists.

The session are free and will take place on Sunday 3 December 2023 at Bracknell Rugby Club.

Our thanks go to the Brember family and also to Ascot 41 Club for their generous support in allowing this event to take place.

All Team Managers with players aged between 14 – 35 have been sent details of how you can register for a screening session.

Please contact your team manager who can provide you with the registration details and password.

This is a great opportunity to care for the health of the players at our club. I urge you to please take advantage of this.
