Bracknell Rugby U15s: No Pitch, No Problem!

Bracknell Rugby U15s: No Pitch, No Problem!

Matt Bond

The weather may have put a stop to rugby on the pitch, but it certainly didn’t stop Bracknell Rugby Under 15s from putting in the hard work!

With the poor weather conditions leaving rugby pitches unplayable, the squad refused to let the elements disrupt their preparations. Instead, the boys headed to Immortal Fitness in Wokingham for a full-on strength and conditioning session led by training guru Stu Lewington.

Swapping muddy boots for a different kind of challenge, the players rolled up their sleeves and got stuck into a demanding session designed to build strength, improve fitness and develop the physical foundations needed for rugby.

Under Stu’s guidance, the squad worked hard throughout, pushing themselves, supporting one another and embracing the challenges in front of them. Strength and conditioning is a vital part of modern rugby, helping players develop power, endurance, agility and resilience — all key ingredients for success on the pitch.

While there may have been no tackles to make or tries to score, there was certainly plenty of effort on show. Sessions like these are an important reminder that rugby development doesn’t stop when the weather turns against you. The work put in away from the pitch can make all the difference when the boys are finally able to get back out there.

The session also gave the squad another opportunity to strengthen the team spirit and togetherness that are so important to Bracknell Rugby. Pushing through tough workouts as a group, encouraging teammates and challenging themselves to do better are all part of what makes a successful team.

A huge thank you to Stu Lewington and everyone at Immortal Fitness in Wokingham for putting the boys through their paces and providing a fantastic alternative to a washed-out rugby session.
