Congrats to two BRFC lads!

400 of the country's best players from 14 RFU Regional Academies attended the BMW Wellington U16 Festival this week, all aiming to be selected for the England U16 side. Amongst them were Bracknell's Sam Clough and Alex Turton.

Sam (Scrum Half) and Alex (Wing) shown above, both currently attend Edgbarrow School, they were selected in the London Irish team for this prestigious week and are both members of the Bracknell U16 squad as well as the London Irish Silver squad.

The festival included training sessions with national coaches, including England Rugby's current coach, Eddie Jones, lectures on player development from former international greats such as Richard Hill and a number of matches against other premiership academies.

Unfortunately Alex sustained a nasty head gash in one of the early games, limiting his game time, but Sam excelled during the week and started in most of the games, scoring 1 try and being nominated as one of the players of the week.

These boys are excellent examples of the mini and junior system at Bracknell RFC and we wish them every success in the future as they aspire towards a professional rugby career.

GoBRFC!
