HOME BRACKNELL PITCH 1 SUNDAY 20TH OCTOBER KICK OFF 1130AM
On another perfect day for rugby, Bracknell U14’s hosted Chobham.
As it was the start of half term and both teams were missing players who were away on holiday. It was agreed between the respective coaches that there would be three 30 minute games.
First up was the nucleus of Bracknell Hurricanes ‘A’ Team versus Chobham ‘A’. Bracknell kicked off but it soon became obvious that they would be in for a very tough match as Chobham are a very well drilled side who are prepared to run with the ball in hand at every opportunity. Within 6 minutes their big, pacey winger scored under the posts followed by the conversion, 7-0 to Chobham.
Bracknell battled away but midway through the game, Chobham scored again wide after an interception, 12-0 to Chobham. Following a scrum, Chobham moved the ball quickly and created an overlap to score,17-0 Chobham. Another try from a forward drive close to Bracknell’s line and a converted try, 24-0 Chobham.
It was just not Bracknell’s day and with too many dropped passes in midfield and too many players not passing after they had done the hard work by creating overlaps and then holding on to the ball rather than pass to the player in space, Bracknell failed to score for the first time this season. The game finished after another converted try, 31-0 to Chobham. It was a deserved win by them.
Congratulations to Nathan W. and Kieran K. who stepped up from the Stormers and performed well.
