A reasonable crowd had assembled at Lily Hill for this final Stags game of the season. A win would see the Stags retain their BBO1 league title. The sunny, cloudy conditions providing ideal rugby playing conditions, as the Stags kicked off playing towards the clubhouse in the first half.

Capitalising on some early pressure, Reading were to open the scoring with a drop goal.

Responding to the Reading early score, the Stags took the lead with a try from George Elliott following a good break from a ruck. Ben Radford converting. 7-3 to Bracknell.

In a well contested period neither were able to score further. A number of knock on and errors meaning the Stags were unable to take advantage of a number of try scoring opportunities. This was to change when Dave Abbott crashed over the try line from close quarters for the Stags second try. Ben Redford missing with the conversion attempt.

The Stags opened the second half scoring with a penalty but this penalty was to be the only addition to the Stags half time scoreline due to some great Reading defence and a failure by Bracknell to execute their drills correctly.

It was Reading who were to score the only try of the second half when some good interplay between backs and forwards allowed the Reading scrum half to score. Conversion was missed.

The win secured the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Div 1 title for the Stags for the second consecutive season - a massive well done to them!!!
