The Bracknell 1XV and their supporters travelled down to Devon, arriving in Ivybridge on a very wet and windy day. Having lost to Ivybridge last November at home 26-36 everyone was keen for an away win.

Bracknell kicked off playing up the hill into the wind and after 10 minutes of play earned a penalty which was taken and secured by Chris Laidler 0-3.

7 minutes later the scores were even when Ivybridge were awarded a penalty which was taken by Billy Pinkus 3-3.

With Bracknell now under pressure, the first half was rounded off with an Ivybridge penalty, again taken by Billy Pinkus.

Half time 6-3

The second half started as the first half ended with sustained pressure from Ivybridge. Bracknell weathered the storm and went on to exert pressure of their own. Now playing down the hill and with the wind their hard work was rewarded with a Harry Challenor try. 6-8

Further Bracknell pressure in the Ivybridge half allowed Pecili Nacamavuto to score, rounding of a number of Bracknell drives. This time the try was converted by Chris Laidler 6-15.

Bracknell now enjoying the greater percentage of territory and possession but unable to capitalize in terms of scoreboard points.

This was corrected in the last few minutes of the game as Bracknell were rewarded for their persistent pressure with a final try by Ian Burch, sealing the win.

A great away win for Bracknell 1XV was enjoyed all the more by the news that all 3 home games were wins too.... Not forgetting that we had 14 Academy lads playing in Saturday teams! Well done to all!

Finally our thoughts are with Peceli Nacamavutu after injurying his arm in the game. Some swift medical invention by Dr Thing meant that he didn't have to go to hospital but we wish him a speedy recovery from all at BRFC.
