The Early Years
Bracknell Ladies
started out in January 1999.
The huge number (Jo, Fiona and Margaret) continued to
attend training sessions on a Sunday afternoon. It took many months
with these numbers before new players started arriving
Training
continued and at the end of season a fun match took place consisting
of the male 4th XV against the Colts, the ladies took an active part
in the 4th XV side.
The next stage
was to continue to train with the improved numbers of 4, after a
while 5 and then around January 2000 around 4 or 5 new players
arrived, and a full team and committee were formed and the first
game was played.
We took part in
our first competitive season in the Merit League in 2001. The
2002/2003 season saw us move to the South East Region League
Division 4, we had a fantastic year and finished the season as
league winners. 2003/2004 we played in Division 3 South East-West
and we finished second in the division.
In previous
years we have toured to Amsterdam, Ghent, Berlin, Sitges, and in
2007 to Dendermonde 10’s tournament.
Current Season
This season we
are still in Division 2 South East-West, this will continue to give
us a challenging year ahead.
